Documenting University Research Interview

Jonathan Steele applied for a PhD in the Cambridge University and her research subject was solid state quantum computing. The interview was set for the following week, and with just four days left for the interview Jonathan was quite obviously a little nervous, different issues crept into her mind such as the kind of panelist she will encounter, and how she will present herself etc.

The University Research Interview was to be conducted by the semiconductor physics department and the microelectronics department, followed by an interview with the graduation admissions board. Jonathan soon got down to work and started surfing the net to get as much information on the topic of her interview.

The Goggle search provided her with lots of material on solid state quantum computing, and she was soon able to short-list a few websites that had enough information for her to compile and save on her digital notepad, besides using a handy digital recorder a narration of important points of research in her own inimitable style was also recorded. The four hours of surfing the net provided her with 20% of the research material.

After surfing the net, she spent a couple of hours in the University Library taking notes and recording some of her findings on the digital voice recorder. All through her academic carrier, whether it was for dissertations or thesis Jonathan had enlisted the services of a transcription company, soon she transferred the collections of notes and recordings on to her computer, and sent them to the transcription company.

The transcribers of the company were very familiar with Jonathan's style of functioning and had absolutely no difficulty in documenting her research paper that consisted of 56 pages. Jonathan was ready for the all important interview.

The privilege of getting an Oxford PhD was soon going to materialize and Jonathan was delighted, her advice to fellow PhD seekers is to carefully choose a transcription company that has good experience in documenting University Research Interviews, because otherwise precious time and effort invested in preparation for the PhD can be jeopardized.
